After earning my PhD in 2010, and working at the VU University Amsterdam for over a decade, I in 2017 started my current position as Associate Professor of HRM & OB at the Peter Faber Business School of the Australian Catholic University (ACU), Melbourne campus. My research mainly focuses on trust, teams, and the combination of both. My work has been published in scholarly journals such as Academy of Management Journal (AMJ), Journal of Applied Psychology (JAP), and Organization Science, and several of my conference papers have appeared in the Academy of Management (AOM) Best Paper Proceedings. In 2014, I received a three-year early career grant (VENI) from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to pursue my research interest into trust asymmetry in teams (similar to ARC’s DECRA). I currently serve on the Editorial Review Boards of AMJJAP, and Journal of Trust Research, and received two Outstanding Reviewer Awards from the former journal. I am an active member of the OB Division of the AOM Annual Meeting, and have been (and continue to be) involved in multiple committees, workshops, and symposia. My teaching, both at the VU and at ACU, has predominately focused on research methods at the Bachelor/undergraduate, Master/post-graduate, and PhD level.
